Improving Fault-Tolerance in Large-Scale Distributed Applications

The ability to tolerate unexpected software and hardware failures is vital to large-scale distributed enterprise applications. We aim to construct a high-quality testing environment to identify reliability and performance issues in large-scale distributed enterprise applications.

Below are the objectives of the project:
  • Construct and simulate the network environment of large-scale distributed enterprise application using the available resources of the Emulab test bed(www.emulab.net).
  • Simulate faults, attacks and other types of stresses on the application to identify defects and bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for the problems.
